Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Ledge Tools ("we") collects when you use the Ledge app and the ledgetools.com website, how it is used and stored, who it is shared with, and what you can do about it.

1. Who is responsible

Ledge Tools is run by an independent developer. For privacy questions, email support@ledgetools.com.

2. Data in the app stays on your Mac

• Clipboard history, notes, settings, work journal and similar content are stored only on your Mac. We never receive or see them.
• Online text recognition, translation, AI and image hosting use third-party services and keys you configure yourself. Data goes straight from your Mac to that service, not through us. Please read that service's privacy policy too.
• Sync data is stored in the iCloud Drive, WebDAV or GitHub Gist you choose. Ledge Tools servers neither store nor read it.
• When checking for updates, the app contacts dl.ledgetools.com for update information and downloads a list of refunded licenses. These requests carry no personal information.
• When you activate a license, the app sends your order number and a randomly generated device ID to our server, so each license is limited to 3 Macs. This device ID is a random value, contains no hardware information, and is not used to track you. You can view it and remove a device in the app's settings.

3. What we collect when you buy

• Your email address: written into your license, and used to help you recover it and to contact you.
• Order details: order number, option purchased, payment channel, amount and time.
• We do not collect or store card numbers or payment account details. Those are handled by the payment providers.
• The website has no analytics, ad tracking or external fonts.

4. How it is used and where it is stored

• Only to deliver your license, help you recover it, and handle refunds and support.
• Order records are stored in a Cloudflare D1 database (Cloudflare stores data on our behalf), and we keep a backup copy on our own computer in case of data loss. We keep only what is needed: email, order number, option and license.
• Order records are kept so we can recover licenses and process refunds. You can ask us to delete them at any time (see section 6).

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to complete a purchase:

• Waffo Pancake: our reseller (Merchant of Record), handling checkout, card and WeChat Pay payments, invoices and taxes. Information you enter at its checkout is handled under its privacy policy.
• Our Alipay payment partner (Chinese site only), when you pay with Alipay.
• Cloudflare: hosts this website and the order records.
• Resend: sends license emails (once enabled).
• Authorities, when required by law.

6. Your rights

• To see, correct or delete the order data we hold about you, email support@ledgetools.com. We respond within 30 days.
• After deletion we can no longer recover your license, so keep your own copy first.

7. Security

The website uses HTTPS throughout. Only we can access order records. The key used to sign licenses is stored encrypted and separately.

8. Children

You must be an adult, or have a parent or guardian's permission, to make a purchase.

9. Changes

If this policy changes in an important way, we will update the date at the top and note it on the website.
